Sellers Insights
I have loved every minute of living in this glorious house. Built in the early 1800s the first house in this Georgian terrace, the terrace itself was completed by 1827 and was called Rye Terrace .

I was privileged to raise my family of three boys over the last 30 years in this grand old English house. Originally a private day nursery (for thirteen years catering for 40 children!) this reverted to a home in 2001. However I was fortunate to have initially lived on the spacious upper floors whilst running an immensely successful Day Nursery on the ground & lower ground floors. The house has adapted easily to our changing needs making the Georgian house one of the most versatile forms of accommodation from the 18th century right through into the 21st century!

My boys enjoyed growing up in the green and leafy surroundings of Peckham Rye. We enjoyed watching the leaves as they changed colour outside of our bedroom windows year after year. A truly spectacular sight! In Springtime Summer or in Winter, we saw a living painting outside of our home. We were so grateful to have enjoyed our final snowy Winter here in 2018 in this lovely home; to know that we enjoyed the beauty & comfort of a real burning fire in almost every room in the house as other generations have done for almost 200 years! It is a truly humbling experience.

The area has everything that any family could wish for-right on your doorstep. There is the beautiful Peckham Rye Grade 1 listed park across the road, all that remains now of an ancient Medieval forest. Dulwich Park, Ruskin Park, Wells Park and Goose Green Park are all nearby within a mile radius. A further mile or so out and we have the benefit of Crystal Palace Park & leisure complex as well as Brockwell Park with the Dulwich Leisure Centre within walking distance.
